Purpose of the Position

As a part of the Product team the QA will work within the Scrum teams and be a part of their sprints. This person will be doing manual testing while helping to build the automation framework and execute regression testing. Incumbent performs work that is generally independent and collaborative in nature and contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborative worker with a proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to solve short- and long-term customer experience challenges.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities for quality management.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Investigate product quality to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction.
  • Regular, reliable attendance during normal business hours.
  • In-person attendance and travel as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University with major in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline or, in lieu of education, 4 or more years of work experience performing Quality Assurance Engineer activities. PLUS:
    • 4+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Testing.
    • 3+ years’ experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
    • 3+ years’ experience with Selenium Runner.
  • Applicants for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited University with major in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with front-end automated testing in Selenium WebDriver or an equivalent.
  • Experience with application life cycle management tools such as JIRA, Version1, and other similar tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods in a stationary seated position, such as working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to travel to offsite assignments.
  • Ability to differentiate wire and cable colors as well as various audible tones.
